The SMSCom Hybrid fan speed Controller 16 Amp uses mechanical fan speed operation with the latest digital temperature sensing technology. The result is a completely silent, twin fan speed controller with highly accurate temperature control with no humming or buzzing.
The Hybrid Pro Controller has a 5m NTC temperature sensor, allowing the unit to be positioned in any location.
The mechanical aspect guarantees a robust and heavy duty controller with completely silent fan operation. The on-board temperature control software provides faster reaction times, lower idling speeds and improved accuracy for the very best result from this type of controller.
The Hybrid Pro Controller is very easy to operate. Just connect your fans and position the probe inside the room. Now, set the lowest fan speed for both fans and your required temperature. The controller will maintain your temperature by automatically adjusting the fans between the controller’s lowest and highest fan settings.
The Hybrid fan speed Controllers work differently to the budget fan speed controllers. Cheaper digitally controlled units work by pulsing electricity, effectively switching power ON and OFF constantly, but at different rates, to vary the fan output levels. It is this pulsing effect which creates the humming noise. The controller in the SMSCom Hybrid properly reduces and increases the amps/watts delivered to in-line fans. This way, the duct fan is always ON, and power is delivered smoothly, eliminating the humming and buzzing sounds.
A light sensor is also included with this model. To use it, simply remove the protective cap – the Mk2 SMSCom Hybrid Pro Fan Speed Controller will then automatically detect dark periods. During these dark periods, without heat from lighting, fans generally tend to run at the minimum setting. Though this is fine for maintaining ideal temperatures, the Hybrid Pro also increases output levels by one setting for 7 minutes every hour, which ensures that humidity levels don’t build up in the room. This greatly reduces the chances of experiencing botrytis (rot) or other mould related issues. If you don’t wish to use this feature, you can turn it off by simply replacing the light sensor’s cap.
