SHOGUN CalMag is an often overlooked addition to any feeding regime that can create huge improvements. Improving nutrient uptake and translocation of nutrients around the plant, CalMag massively enhances your plants ability to move and use other essential nutrient elements around as well as helping to facilitate many plant essential functions.

USAGE

Root Feed – Add at a rate of 1-2mL/L to your nutrient reservoir or watering can. Use throughout vegetative and flowering growth.

Foliar Application – CalMag can be used as a foliar feed to correct deficiencies relating to poor establishment or environmental problems. Add at a rate of 15mL/L and spray onto the leaves. Spray once per week until the issue is resolved. The recommended pH for foliar application is – 5-7.

Why do I need to use Cal Mag in Coco Coir

Calcium and magnesium deficiencies are the most common nutrient problem with coco growers. To avoid these problems and effectively manage your Plants, it is important to understand the relationship that coco has with calcium and magnesium. All Base Nutrients come with Calcium (Ca) and Magnesium (Mg). This leads some growers to wonder why Cal Mag supplement is needed.

When growing in Coco Coir you have to be aware that the coco itself requires a certain amount of calcium and magnesium. The cation exchange sites in coco will lock on to the Ca and Mg and they will be unavailable to your plant. To get over this problem you must provide larger doses when preparing your Coco to ensure that there is some Calcium and Magnesium available to the plant straight away.
